It has been a busy couple of weeks since the end of The Rugby World Cup and I have not had time to do a blog post. Since the World Cup finished I have been working with UK Sports Pics covering a couple of events. I have covered a couple Port Vale matches, I travelled down to Twickenham to cover the Barbarians v Argentina match and I have covered the Leicester Tigers v Bath match. I have had some very difficult conditions to work in recently, with extremely heavy rain and strong wind making it tough working environment. However as a sports photographer you can’t just not shoot because it is raining, as long as the match is being played you have to shoot it and just make sure you tale all the precautions to ensure you and your kit stays as dry as possible. Last Sunday it was very difficult to do this at the Leicester Tigers match because the wind was blowing the rain right into my face which meant the 400mm 2.8 lens took a bit of a beating and got very wet.
Celebration Images
I have always wanted to capture a set of images of a team celebrating with champagne when they win. Last season I cam close covering Mickelover Sports in their final match of the season which they ended up getting promoted in, however even though there was a celebration there was no champagne. I finally got the opportunity to do this at Twickenham when I was covering the Barbarians v Argentina match. The Argentina team won and celebrated with some champagne. I have included a gallery of images below which is a couple of highlights from my recent matches.
